Welcome to the 2023 Velvet Sire Sale

Like most of you reading this, we have experienced another horrible, wet winter and a very slow, cold spring. Top that off with a huge amount of rain in the later part of spring, and we find ourselves in a real pinch for feed, dealing with more flood damage to young crops and difficulty getting our supplement made. Anyway, that’s farming I guess, and we farmers always have something to complain about! Despite all that, the stock has come through well and we are really happy with what we are presenting in this catalogue.

You may have noticed a ‘new look’ to our branding?  We wanted a new brand identity that represented Peel Forest Estate and the quality of animals we are producing at our stud, for both our local and international markets. A huge amount of work has gone into the development of our new brand, and after nearly 2 years, we are now there. Here at Peel Forest Estate, we’re proud of our new look, and it also serves as a constant reminder of our ongoing search for excellence - in everything we do.

The line-up this year is averaging 7.76kg over 28 predominantly English stags. There are a couple of new Sire’s available as well as a few of the tried and true. I believe there is a great selection of genetics available this year with some very potent blood on offer. We will also have some more semen available at the end of the sale, so it is a great opportunity to get your hands on some of these great sires for your own breeding programs.

Again, we have taken a video of the velvet that relates to each lot (3D view) with an easy QR code to scan which takes you straight to the video. This really does allow you to see every angle of the velvet which is super important if you’re choosing to buy online via the BIDR platform.
